FAQ - Retreat 2024

1. How to get to the Farkaskútvölgy meditation center from Liszt Ferenc airport?

It takes about one hour drive (~100 km). Public transport takes about 3 hours from the Budapest Airport. You may use Google maps for planning your journey from "Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport" to "Farkaskútvölgy, Felsőtold, 3067".

Example: Bus 100E to "Astoria"; Underground M3 from "Astoria" to "Puskás Ferenc Stadion"; Bus 439 or 1024 from " Budapest, Stadion autóbusz-pályaudvar" to "Felsőtold Faluház". It takes about half an hour to walk on a hiking track to get to Farkaskútvölgy. More details will follow closer to the venue.

2. Can I be picked from the local train station/bus stop?

In general, we are not in a position to offer shuttle service. If you can't get to Farkaskütvölgy otherwise, please let us know, and we will find transport on a case-by-case basis.

3. How is the security situation in Hungary?

The general security safety/security situation in Hungary is good. You do not need to be more cautious than in any other EU country.

4. Are there any meditation cushions/mats I can use at the venue so that I wouldn't have to carry my own?

Please bring your own cushions/mats. There are few of those available on site. PLease let us know if you can't take your own for a special reason.

5. Can I arrive at the retreat on day -1 even if I am not a 30-day meditator?

If you are selected for 30-day retreat then you may arrive on day -1. For any other retreat please arrive on day 0.

6. Is it better to transfer or give cash donation on the spot?

Cash on the spot is preferred. Wire transfer is also a good option.

7. How will protein intake be ensured? Will eggs be included in the meals?

Eggs and occasionally diary products will be offered. The vegan meals will also be rich in protein.

8. Why is this question: "I need translation (to/from Hungarian)"? Isn't the retreat in English?

The retreat is in English, however at the group interviews, evening Q&A sessions there are likely questions/discussions in Hungarian, hence the question about translation from/to Hungarian.
